Guillaume Lundy's Tempo Retired from Sport

French Grand Prix rider Guillaume Lundy has announced the retirement of his number one competition horse, Tempo. Dressprod first published the news.

Tempo is a 17-year old Hanoverian gelding by Brentano II out of daylight (by Donnerhall x Warkant). He is bred by Marion Schwarze.

Fabien Godelle

Acquired as a youngster by the French Institute for Horses and Equitation (IFCE), Tempo was first trained and competed by Fabien Godelle.

He premiered the horse in 2011 in the 4-year old classes and finished 7th at the 2011 French Young Horse Championships. He debuted internationally as a 5-year old in 2012 in Pompadour and got bronze at the 2012 French Young Horse Championships. He was fifth in 2013. He became reserve champion in the 7-year old championship in 2014.

In 2016 the pair debuted at international small tour level on home turf in Saumur. Godelle competed him up to medium tour level until the summer of 2017.

As of 2018 Cadre Noir rider Guillaume Lundy began competing Tempo at Grand Prix level.

In the past seven years the pair showed at CDI's in Saumur, Le Mans, Lier, Hagen, Grote Brogel, Madrid, Jerez, Wiesbaden, Lyon, Basel, Compiegne, and Crozet. Their last CDI was Compiegne in May.

Lundy and Tempo were regulars at the French Grand Prix Championship, finishing 7th in 2019 and 2020, they got silver in 2022 and bronze in 2023.

After a long career Tempo will now be retired to the field.
