The Dutch warmblood stallion Johnson has retained his nr 1 spot on the WBFSH Dressage Sire Ranking for the third, consecutive year.

The WBFSH has present the 2024 Sires of the Year, celebrating the world’s top sires across Dressage, Jumping, and Eventing. This year’s rankings showcase not only the return of some remarkable names but also notable shifts among leading stallions.

Johnson Reigns

Johnson (by Jazz x Flemmingh) tops the Dressage Sire rankings once again. With an impressive 31,608 points, he secured 1st place with a strong lead.

The most important contributor to Johnson's number one spot is Great Escape Camelot (Raphael Netz) with contributed 2051 points to Johnson's total score. Also chipping in are Windermere J'Obei W (Melissa Galloway), Jolene (Alexandre Ayache), Hero (Devenda Dijkstra), Boston (Denise Nekeman), and Inoraline W (Sofie Lexner) amongst others.

Quaterback in Pursuit

After dropping to fourth place in 2023, from second place in 2022, Quaterback (Quaterman x Brandenburger) climbs back into the top three, taking second place with 27,239 points. The biggest contributor to his score are Touchdown (Patrik Kittel) and Quantaz (Isabell Werth).

Blue Hors Zack (Rousseau x Jazz) remains in the top three, but drops to third pace, having amassed 20,612 points. Through Johnson and Blue Hors Zack, the legendary sire Jazz maintains his strong influence in modern dressage breeding. Zack offspring that led to the sire's third place are three Blue Hors Grand Prix horses: Zepter, Zatchmo and Znickers.
