The bay Havertz was named champion of the 2024 Trakehner Stallion Licensing in Neumunster on Saturday 30 November 2024.
Thirty-eight stallions were presented for licensing, 15 were licensed and seven were named premium.
The champion was Havertz, a colt by Blanc Pain out of Millenia (by Millennium x K2). He is owned by Nicole Derlin, who bought the colt for 32,000 euro at the 2022 Trakehner Championships. The breeder is Michaela Böhn, who bred last year's Trakehner mare champion Rose La France.
At the auction following the licensing Albert Sprehe of Gestut Sprehe purchased Havertz for 420,000 euro after out-bidding a client from "Hessia".
The reserve champion was Go Magic (by Helium x Friedensfurst). He is bred in Denmark and was not offered for sale.
The best jumping stallion was Schneebaron (by Asagao xx x Mon Baron), bred by Paul Wimmer and owned by Jort Kooijman. He sold for 100,000 euro.
The other premium stallions were Zauberbaron (by Integer x Interconti - sold for 180,000 euro to Jan Anker in The Netherlands), Forlan (by Rheinglanz x Perpignan Noir - sold for 50,000 euro), King Charles (by Rheinglanz x His Moment - sold for 50,000 euro) and Sutherland (by Saint Cyr x Touch my Heart - sold for 70,000 euro).
At auction the licensed Nachtmond (by Interconti x Niagara) went for 40,000 euro, while Goldmass (by Schäplitzer x Shavalou) sold for 39,000 euro, Curriculum (by Dameron x Buddenbrock) for 23,000 euro and Guggenheim (by Kwahu x Axis) fetched 20,000 euro.
The most expensive non-licensed stallion was Glenwood Par (by Schaplitzer x Millennium) which sold for 35,000 euro.
Riding Horse Auction
Ten riding horses, twelve mares, and one embyo also found new owners in the auction on Friday 29 November 2024.
The top price was paid for a broodmare. The newly crowned Trakehner Reserve Mare Champion Basilika (by . Preussen Party x Summertime) sold for 70,000 euro.
The 5-year old mare Only Solution (by Schwarzgold x Kaiserdom) found new owners for 45,000 euro, while the gelding Pur und Edel (by Shapiro x Goldschmidt) went for 40,000 euro. The auction concluded with the sale of a pregnancy: a full sibling of the premium stallion Kenneth unleashed a bidding duel that ended with the winning bid of 38,000 euro.
