Melanie Hofman and her step daughter Meilin Ngovan have taken over the ride on Robert Lualdi's top horses after he decided to end his collaboration with Swiss Olympian Andrina Suter.

The move of the horses to Hofmann's barn was almost instant, but Melanie did not want to confirm this to Eurodressage in September 2024. The mother-daughter duo had their coming out with them last weekend   at the national show in Berne, Switzerland.

Andrina Suter

Robert Lualdi owns some of Switzerland's most successful, competitive dressage horses as they achieved much success under Andrina Suter.

With the 10-year old Westfalian Briatore (by Belissimo M x Dresemann) she finished fourth in the 6-year old finals at the 2021 World Young Horse Championships in Verden, followed by a 7th place at the WCYH in Ermelo in 2022. They finished the year on a high note with a whopping victory in the 2022 Nurnberger Burgpokal Finals. Briatore did his last CDI at the 2023 CDI Aachen at small tour level and did not show internationally in 2024.

Aboard Lualdi's 15-year old Westfalian Fibonacci (by Flanagan x Woldman) Suter represented Switzerland as an individual pair at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where they placed 55th in the Grand Prix with 65.590%. They were fourth at the 2024 Swiss Championships.

Lualdi's Hanoverian mare Depeche Mode (by Dimaggio x Goethe) moved from Suter to Charlotte Richter, who showed it in August 2024. As of November 2024 Leana Hofmann (Melanie’s daughter) has been showing this horse.

Lualdi's horses returned to the spotlight at the CDN Berne on 28 February - 2 March 2025.

Meilin showed Fibonacci in the Intermediaire II and finished fourth with 68.11% out of 5 competitors. She went on to land second place in the U25 Grand Prix with 67.64%%

Melanie piloted Briatore to a 13th place in the Grand Prix with 61.20%. There were 13 riders in the class.

Melanie also rode Lualdi's 10-year old Hanoverian For Fun L (by Fürstbischof x Don Frederico) to a 3rd place in another Inter II class with 69.43%. With the 9-year old Hanoverian Mille Fiori L (by Millennium x Desperados) she was 3rd in the Prix St Georges with 69.3%.
