Six Premium Colts Named at 2025 Danish Warmblood Stallion Licensing

Eighteen 3-year old colts were approved at the 2025 Danish Warmblood Stallion Licensing in Herning on Sunday 9 March 2025 and got a 1-year old breeding permit.

The licensing committee, consisting of Vicky Nortvig, Bjarne Nielsen, Rune Willum and Johnny Sørensen, named six stallions premium. After a stricter year in 2024 with only three premiums, it was back to six premium stallions this year. There were 7 in 2023, 2022, and six in 2021.

The young colts were presented on hard surface, on the lunge line, and in freedom. Today the committee announced their verdict and accepted 18 for the performance test. The Danish Licensing committee does not proclaim a champion.

The 5-year Oldenburg bred and 2022 Westfalian Licensing champion V-Power (by Viva Gold x For Romance x Show Star) was also presented with a premium label during the presentation of the 3-year premium stallions. He was already performance tested in Germany and Denmark in 2023, but only presented for Danish approval for the first time now, which made the committee decide to sort him amongst the 3-year old colts.
