Canadian Alexandra Duncan has made her show debut with KWPN licensed Grand Prix stallion Hitmaker a winning one.
Hitmaker is a 13-year old Dutch warmblood stallion by Wynton x Cabochon x Pantheon xx.
Winning Florida Debut
Hitmaker only just left quarantine and has settled in easily in the Wellington lifestyle and weather. Alexandra selected the USEF qualifier national show at White Fences on 4 - 6 April 2025 as their debut show for its quiet environment. She wanted her horse to feel comfortable at his first U.S. show since being imported from The Netherlands.
The duo topped Saturday's Grand prix class with a 70.109% score. They led a field of eight competitors and edged out Jordan LaPlaca on Gold Play.
Exciting Times Ahead
Canadian Alexandra Duncan is based in Wellington, Florida after having spent six years in Europe working with Jan Brink and Anky van Grunsven. She has been patiently building her training, sales and breeding business and is working out of the Palm Beach Equine Sports complex.
To strengthen her partnership with Hitmaker Alex has chosen to seek supervision from U.S. Olympian Robert Dover.
"Robert is taking the lead to improve all the details and build up the horse," said Alex. "He is extremely positive attitude in training and high attention to details."
Hitmaker allows her to dream big and Alex is brewing on her competition plans for 2025.
Building the Breeding Programme
Hitmaker is licensed as the third ranked premium stallion of the 2015 KWPN Stallion Licensing and scored 80 points at his stallion performance test. He was shown at international Grand Prix level by Jennifer Sekreve (NED).
In February 2025 Duncan acquired the stallion as her new Grand Prix horse and to strengthen her string of breeding stallions standing at stud. Hitmaker joined the 7-year old Oldenburg stallion Elantic (by Erdinger x Belantis) and the 8-year old KWPN stallion McKenzy JHL (by Alexandro P x WV Saron) in her breeding barn. In addition Alex has a stable full of FEI talent, including King (by Lord Leatherdale x Ferro), Illusionist M (by Charmeur x Vivaldi), and Kopperfield C-Two (by Toto Jr x Ferro).
The breeding management of the stallions is done by Stacy Brass of Brass Stables. While Alex travels to compete her dressage horses, the jumper side of the business is kept running by Gracey and Gianni. Alex is also closely collaborating with GPL Founder Chip McKenney, Dr. Susan Fowell, and Maison Cheval LLC.
