
State Stud Warendorf announced that its versatile breeding stallion Arpeggio passed away on 6 April 2025 at age 30.
Arpeggio was a 1995 born Westfalian stallion by Accord II out of XX (by Power x Schöning x Dialekt). He was bred by Heinz Dieckhoff-Holsen in Telgte.
Reserve Licensing Champion
The bay became the reserve licensing champion of the 1997 Westfalian stallion licensing and moved to stand at stud in Warendorf his entire life.
He did his 100-day stallion performance test at home in Warendor and scored a dressage index of 111.14 points (6th) and a jumping index of 116.75 points (6th), finishing fifth overall out of 20 participating stallions.
There was no significant career in sport.
Versatility
While Arpeggio is known as a versatile producer, he mainly had his influence in show jumping. He has 916 offspring registered for sport in Germany: 142 of them compete at S-level in jumping, 10 at S-level in dressage.
He sired 17 licensed sons, of which 10 are in studbook 1 and 36 state premium daughters.
His most famous dressage offspring include the international para dressage horse Akuna Matata (Rixt van der Horst), the NRPS licensed Aachen (Imke Schellekens-Bartels), and Arezzo (Celina Bådstangen).
Passing
Warendorf announced the stallion's passing on its Facebook page.
