Danish Team Pony Cosmo Royale Finds New Rider in Denmark

Sofia Rosenkilde's Danish team pony Cosmo Royale has found a new rider in Denmark.The chestnut will continue his sport career under Malina Skovsager.

Cosmo Royale is an 11-year old German Riding pony stallion by Cosmopolitan out of Cascada Royale (by Casino Royale K). He is bred by Danica Duen. 

Triple Bundeschampion

He got licensed at the 2016 DSP Pony Stallion Licensing in Oberpörlitz and approved for the Westfalian and Weser-Ems studbook later on.  He did a 2-day shortened suitability test in Ansbach in January 2019 and scored 9.35 points. 

First competed by breeder Danica Duen in 2017, he won the 2017 Bundeschampionate for 3-year old stallions and the 2018 Bundeschampionate as a 4-year old.  In 2019 daughter Sophie Duen took over the ride and rode him to a third title and gold medal at the Bundeschampionate. In 2020 they returned to Warendorf, but got the bronze medal in the 6-year old division. 

Sophie and Cosmo Royale made their international show debut in 2021 at the CDI Kronberg and competed in Ornago four months later. In 2022 they showed at the CDI's in Le Mans and Ornago. Out of 9 international starts, they won once in Ornago, placed second four times, third three times, but were rung out in Ornago in June 2022, their last CDI together. 

Sofia Rosenkilde

Cosmo Royale sold to the Rosenkilde family and premiered internationally under Sofia Rosenkilde at the 2023 CDI Le Mans. They also showed in Hagen and Drammen to earn a spot on the Danish team for the 2023 European Pony Championships in Le Mans, where they got team silver and were 16th in the individual test. They won the 2023 Danish Pony Championships.

In 2024 the pair competed at CDI's in Lier, Tolberg, Aalborg and Hagen and returned on the team for the Europeans in Opglabbeek where Denmark won team silver. The pair finished fourth in the Kur Finals.They renewed their title at the 2024 Danish Pony Championships.

In 2025 they showed at CDI's in Lier, Aachen Festival 4 Dressage, CDIO Lier and Hagen, but this year they didn't make it on the team for the Europeans. 

New Rider

The 16-year old Sofia Rosenkilde has aged out of ponies and has already been competing at junior level with Kingston JZ (by Toto Jr x Turbo Magic). Her pony has been sold.

Cosmo Royale will continue his sport career under Malina Skovsager, who has been showing at international pony leel with Lyngdal's Mira Puella (by Daugaardens Boombay x CJ Chargon Bredager) since October 2024. She also rode her junior rider's horse Blue Hors Zampalo (by Zack x Brentano II) at the 2025 Nordic Baltic Championships.
