The Sweden International Horse Show on 27 - 29 November 2025 has dropped to 4* level this year. The 5* "Top 10" concept for dressage has been cancelled due to a lack of sponsorship.
The Top 10 Concept
The "Top 10" concept was first introduced in Stockholm in 2017 shouldered by car company Saab. As of 2022 Lovsta Stutteri took over the sponsorship.
The "Saab Top 10" was a 5* level competition inviting, in principle, the top 10 ranked riders to Stockholm. The project was supported by Patrik Kittel at the time who said, "we want to give clearness to the sport and more glamour and festivity to the audience. This concept allows the audience to really get to know each and every one of the ten riders.
In practice the field of entries was based on invitation and included riders, often clients, friends, students and connections, that were ranked even outside the FEI Top 100. Last year, in 2024, only 8 riders showed up for the 5* and just 6 rode the freestyle
Albeit the show brought many stars to Stockholm, including Jessica von Bredow-Werndl, Catherine Dufour, and Isabell Werth. It was fun and trendy with an annual photo shoot of the participants and Stockholm scored atmosphere points with its huge LED screen in the background, creating a unique setting
No Top 10 in 2025
"Unfortunately, this year we do not have a partner or sponsor for our international dressage competitions, which means we are unable to offer the same high level of prize money," event director Christin Ericsson told Eurodressage. "Nevertheless, we remain committed to presenting our visitors—and the international dressage elite—with a first-class event."
Ericsson continued, "to make the competition possible, we have changed its status to a four-star event and, in connection with this, have removed the “Top 10” designation. Our ambition and hope are to secure a partner for our international dressage competition in the coming year and thereby once again be able to offer a five-star Top 10 event."
