At a Belgian Grand Prix squad training the 28-year old Nico Nyssen presented a new Grand Prix hopeful, the 11-year old Dutch warmblood Kylian.
Kylian is a 2015 born KWPN gelding by Bordeaux out of Zeoline (by Jazz x Krack C). He is bred by M. Miltenburg.
Trained to Grand Prix in Germany
Previously trained up to Grand Prix level by Hubertus Schmidt's student Hubertus Hufendiek and his partner Anna Lena Holmen in Germany, Kylian was purchased by renowned German dressage trainer Jürgen van Damme through horse dealer Joachim Arl four years ago.
Alleged riding difficulties with the horse led to a legal dispute between Van Damme and Arl over the rescission of the sales contract. The horse continued to be trained by Holmen at Hufendiek's stable. After the German courts ruled in two instances that the buyer had no right to withdraw from the contract against Joachim Arl, the horse was returned by Hufendiek and Holmen to Jürgen van Damme. A legal dispute is still ongoing before the German Federal Court of Justice.
Move to Belgium
Meanwhile, Van Damme has sent the horse in training with Belgian Grand Prix rider Nico Nyssen.
On his social media, Nyssen appears thrilled with Kylian, showing clips of expressive piaffe and passage moments during the Belgian squad training at Stable Vanderhasselt five weeks ago and at home.
