Norwegian Grand Prix Rider Selina Solberg Vittinghus has injured herself severely in a riding accident and will not be able to compete on the Danish team at the 2026 Nordic Baltic Championships at the end of June.
The 39-year old Solberg lives in Denmark and is the head rider at breeding farm Atterupgaard, from whom she has been riding 17 years. She is married to Hans-Kristian Solberg Vittinghus, a Danish retired badminton player who won medals at 13 European Badminton Championships between 2008 and 2021.
Bad Luck
On 3 June she got bucked off a horse which spooked while on a hack in the forest. She was transported by ambulance to the hospital where she was diagnosed with three broken ribs, a broken shoulder and collarbone as well as a concussion.
Solberg said it was "not as dramatic as it might sound, just really bad luck."
Grand Prix Debut
Selina represented Danish Warmblood at the 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2025 World Young Horse Championships on Atterupgaard horses Capirossi, Botticelli, Delorean, Bernachi and Daimi. Between 2019 and 2025 she also competed at international small tour level with horses Kawasaki, Ophelia, Don Caballero, and Delorean.

She had been selected to ride on the Norwegian Grand Prix team at the 2026 Nordic Baltic Championships in Stromsholm, Sweden, at the end of the month, based on her national scores on the 13-year old Danish mare Atterupgaards Delorean (by Bon Bravour x Sandro Hit). She competed the mare at big tour level between November 2025 and April 2026 in five tests with scores between 68 and 73%.
