Ava Osing will not be competing at the 2026 European Junior Riders Championships in Olomouc (CZE) next week. She has been replaced by the first reserve Birte Niessing.
Osing formed only a new partnership with the newly acquired Destacado, Matthias Rath's internationally competed Grand Prix horse. Ava got matched with the 13-year old Hanoverian stallion (by Despardos x Londonderry) in March after her 2025 European junior team ride Vitalos got sidelined. That stallion hasn't shown since winning team gold at the 2025 Europeans. They were 26th in the individual test.
Osing and Destacado obtained their spot on the German junior team after debuting n Kronberg in April to a 70.950 and 71.010% score. At the Preis der Besten they were twice third and they only did one test at the CDIO-JR Hagen, finishing third with 71.136%.
The pair has now been forced to withdraw from going to Olomouc. Birte Niessing on Destino take their place. This is already the second replacement on the German junior team. Earlier Bartels withdrew and got replaced by the second reserve Greta Wagner.
