Danish Grand Prix rider Camilla Lunderskov has taken over the ride on Kenneth Damgaard's internationally competed Grand Prix horse UNO Day Sun.

UNO Day Sun is a 13-year old Danish warmblood by UNO Don Diego out of UNO Rosita Sun (by Rosoff x Airport). He is bred and owned by Stutteri UNO in Denmark.

Kenneth Damgaard

The black has been trained and produced from young horse level to Grand Prix by Kenneth Damgaard.

He first competed the horse in September 2018 in the 5-year old classes and took it to the Danish Young Horse Championships, but there was no score in the finals test. There were no shows in 2019 and in 2020 they competed in the 7-year old tests before hitting small tour in 2021.

Their international show debut was in March 2022 in Herning, where they were 8th in the small tour. They also showed in Kristiansand a mond later. In 2023 Damgaard moved UNO Day Sun up to  Grand Prix level with Herning being their first international, followed by Troisdorf and the Nordic Baltic Championshipsin Drammen, where they were second in the kur with 73.335%.

Damgaard continued to campaign the gelding internationally through July 2025 with starts in Tolbert, Falsterbo, Kristiansand, Hagen, Wroclaw, Gothenburg, Herning and Aachen. They were 6th at the 2024 Danish Dressage Championships.

Camilla Lunderskov

UNO Day Sun disappeared from the international show scene for almost a year and a half.

Camilla had got her feet wet on the horse first at the end of September at a national show in Frederiksværk, followed by two tests in Solrød Strand a week later. She won all three tests at her national kick-off with the horse.

With three 70% scores her trained Michael Sogaard, which she nick-names "Captain Søgaard" considered her ready for the "Box", the indoor show at Jyske Bank Boxen in Herning.

"I thought it was just one of his usual jokes, but when I met his eyes I could tell he actually meant it," Camilla stated. "And when he explained why it all made so much sense. Dolly needs to go out and get some experience and feel safe and secure on the big stages and here was the opportunity to practice in Denmark."

CDI Debut Ride in Herning

UNO Day Sun returned to the international stage at last weekend's CDI-W Herning with Lunderskov who rode him in the 3* tour to a 14th place in the Grand Prix (63.739%) and a third place in the Special (68.596%).

"The first day it was a big mouthful for her and the trip was clearly marked by that her focus was on the surroundings and not on me," said Camilla. "Fortunately, on Sunday morning we were able to come in and show her the competition ring and with good advice from the captain and with my world famous groom, who could hand out small apple treats from the dangerous corner, Dolly was convinced that it is actually mega cool to be at a party in Herning."

Camilla continued, "I don't think I've ever been so happy after a ride as I was yesterday. Although we didn't ride up to our best at all and I had a few hiccups along the way, I sat on the back of a safe and comfortable Dolly, who gave me her full attention and enjoyed being in the arena."
