The Skovsager family continues to expand its string of horses. After recently acquiring Emory for Malina Skovsager, elder sister Michella added Francesca VH to her line-up of horses.

Francesca VH is an 8-year old Swedish warmblood mare by Franklin out of Floricella VH (by Floricello x De Niro x Rohdiamant).

Francesca VH

Bred by Tobias Hansson at Vastra Hoby brood farm in Sweden, Francesca is out of Floricella VH, a maternal half sister to Springbank I and II.

The mare did the inspection test in Flyinge in 2021 and scored 9 for type, 8 for head and neck, 7 for legs, 8.5 for walk, 10 for trot, and 9 for canter.

She was first competed by Jeanna Hogberg in 2021 before Felicia Olofsson showed her in Sweden in 2023 at the Young Horse Championships. They were third.

The mare then moved to Andreas Helgstrand's sales barn in Denmark where first Mette Sejbjerg Jensen took on the ride (June 2024) before her husband Eric Guardia Martinez began competing her in the spring of 2025. They finished 12th in the 7-year old Finals at the 2025 World Young Horse Championships in Verden. In December 2025 they competed in the small tour at the CDI Vilhelmsborg.

The mare did not compete in 2026.

Michella Skovsager

Francesca has now been sold to the Skovsager family as an extra iron in the fire for Michella.

She has had a fabulous 2026 show season so far. Aboard her 9-year old Swedish mare Zimillione Pt2 (by Gammelenggards Zappa x Furst Nymphenburg), she won European Championships bronze and silver as well as the title at the Danish Young Riders Championships.

Skovsager trains with Maik Kohlschmidt, a former employee of Helgstrand.

"I’m already so in love with her and really looking forward to our journey together," said Michella about her new mare. "Excited for what the future holds for us."
