2026 Danish Dressage Championships

Ida Bøllingtoft Asmussen and Michella Skovsager became the winners of 2026 Danish junior and young riders championships held in Vallensbaek on 28 - 30 August 2026.

Thirty-one junior riders and 23 young riders competed in the first round, the top 15 moved on to the second round, the kur to music. The scores of both rounds were tallied to determine the overall ranking.

Junior Riders: Asmussen Untouchable

Danish team rider and European championship kur gold medal winner Ida Bøllingtoft Asmussen was untouchable in the junior division as she won both rounds, the team championship test and kur to music. Asmussen and her 11-year old Danish warmblood Gozzip (by Sezuan x De Noir) scored winning marks of 76.148% and 78.200% for the gold medal.

"So much love for this special horse," said a thrilled Ida after winning the title.

European Pony championship kur gold medal winner and Danish pony champion Filippa Jaeger Jensen proved she is more than ready for horses and junior level competition as she picked up the silver medal aboard Bailey Hojris (by Furst William x Bordeaux). She was second in the first round with 75.537% and and third in the Kur with 75,325% to finish second overall.

Junior team rider Isabella Struntze Torp and 14-year old Danish bred Vestervangs Garson (by De Noir x Ragazzo) ended on the bronze medal step of the podium. She posted 72.463% in the first round and moved herself on the podium with a a second best score in the kur (75.800%).

Young Riders: Skovsager Supreme

European Championships bronze and silver medal winner Michella Skovsager proved she's also top of the bill in her own country, winning the national championships at Young Riders level. Skovsager and her 9-year old Swedish mare Zimillione Pt2 (by Gammelenggards Zappa x Furst Nymphenburg) won both rounds with 74,091% and 77,975%.

"What an incredible weekend with Zimi. We started the championships with a win on the first day," said Skovsager, who trains with German Maik Kohlschmidt. "In the freestyle we scored 77.9% and took another win, which meant we finished the weekend as Danish Champions. Zimi was absolutely amazing and I’m so incredibly proud of her. She gave me everything and made this whole weekend so special."

The silver medal went to Theresa Rosenkilde on her long-time partner Blue Hors Zwobber, a 15-year old Danish warmblood by Zack x Romanov. They were twice in second place with 72.473% and 74,875%.

Newcomer Benedicte Schmith impressed by riding herself on the podium with the 10-year old KWPN bred Livius (by Gotcha-Utopia x Jazz). The former Blue Hors stud owned licensed stallion, now a gelding, scored 71.127% and 71.125% to finish third overall.
