Twelve years after she represented Denmark in her first major championships, the 2010 World Equestrian Games, Danish Anne Troensegaard is knocking at the door of Danish team consideration with her Trakehner gelding Kipling TSF.

The pair proved to be on the rise at the 2022 CDI Le Mans on 10 - 13 February 2022, where they finished fourth in the Grand Prix and won the Grand Prix Special.

"I am so trilled about Kipling's performance in Le Mans. I did not know how he would take the long drive, but he took it so well and was so happy all week," Anne told Eurodressage. "In the warm up for the Grand Prix, he was just amazing. He was so focused on me and relaxed, and he replied to the smallest aids. He did some very very good piaffe work. I still can not get it all in the ring yet, but I actually was very satisfied after our ride. He tried his best and did not spook. He is quite a hot horse, which also make him good, but for every time we enter the ring he get better and better, gaining more and more confidence at this level."

2010 WEG Team with Seduc

Anne began riding as a very young child and booked her first success on pony Mischa, who took her to team silver at the European Pony Championships.

Anne Rosleff Troensegaard made her big break through in the late 2000s on Seduc, a Danish warmblood by Induc x Go On Then xx. She quit her job as a nurse and committed full-time to riding and teaching.

Anne and Seduc were member of the Danish team that competed at the 2009 and 2010 Nordic Baltic Championships and 2010 World Equestrian Games in Lexington, KY. For 18 years she was trained by Jørgen Hvenegaard, but as of 2011 Anne began working with Rune Willum.

In 2012 the pair was submitted to the Danish Olympic long list but did not make the cut. In the autumn of 2012, Seduc moved on as a schoolmaster for junior Emma Nymand Hansen.

Kipling

Bronze at the 2017 WCYH
Troensegaard's next promising star was Kipling, a 2010 born Trakehner by Hofrat out of Kylie (by Hohenstein), bred and owned by Peter Christensen. They won bronze at the 2014 Danish Young Horse Championships and two years later they first represented Denmark at the 2016 World Young Horse Championships in Ermelo, where they 6th in the finals They went on to collect silver at the 2016 Danish Young Horse Championships. In 2017 they returned to Ermelo and got bronze in the 7-year old finals, while at the 2017 Danish Young Horse Championships they captured a second silver.

Kipling did not compete at all in 2018 and it was rumoured to have been sold to the U.S.A, but at the end of 2018 the horse was with Troensegaard again. It took Anne two years to return to the CDI ring with him, making a come back in Flyinge at small tour level in September 2019, winning the Inter I Kur. The pair did not show internationally in 2020 and returned to the arena in July 2021 with their first international Grand Prix in Ypaka, Finland, where they finished 6th with 67.674%.

On the Rise

Kur victory at the 2022 CDI Le Mans
Anne kept chiselling at the electric Kipling and at the 2022 CDI Le Mans - their second big tour international - they posted 72.282% in the Grand Prix and a winning 76.250% in the freestyle. The pair rode to brand new music arranged by Nicole Pendzich.

"The last six months he has developed so much at home," said Anne. "We have worked on the piaffe, transitions and pirouettes, but actually it has been about getting him stronger and stronger. He really has his highlights in the piaffe, trot work and pirouettes, and I am sure that we will get this in the arena with more experience. He is developing so much for every time. He just needs time and routine and with that I believe we will get even more points."

Troensegaard did not expect to win at all in Le Mans

"It was our first time on the real big scene and I still need to ride him without too much power or pressure), so he can do the test relaxed, before I turn up and give full power in the exercises," Anne explained. "When I left home I just hoped for some good rides without too many faults. It was a very big field with some very good and experienced riders, so I did not have my eyes on the win, but I have always known and said that Kipling has it all: quality and will, and that he some day will be able to get high scores in Grand Prix."

She continued, "I was really happy that the judges were so positive, and it was all 10 judges. He is a very special horse and he really loves to do shows, both showing off in the ring, but also all the attention in the stable."

The pair will be heading to the 2022 CDI Herning next in March.
