Viva Austria SA and Furst Diamont H Named 2023 Austrian Warmblood Foal Champions

Viva Austria SA and Furst Diamont H were named the 2023 Austrian Warmblood Foal Champions on the third day of the AWÖ National Championships in Stadl Paura on 16 September 2023.

Around 80 foals divided into five groups – dressage and show jumping fillies and colts  and riding pony foals  - were assessed by Hans-Heinrich Brüning and Roland Metz. At the end of the day they selected 27 foals for the champion's rings.

Fillies: Viva Austria SA 

Viva Austria SA led the champion's ring in the filly division for which nine were selected.

Bred and owned by Lebrecht Angerer, this filly is by Viva Gold out of a dam by Follow Me x Furstenball x San Amour. She scored a total of 9.4 points with 19 for type, 9 for conformation, 9.5 for movements and 9 for perspective.

Holzleiter's Caipirinha FH (by Indian Rock x Furst Romancier) was the runner-up with 9.4 points. She earned 9.5 for type, 9 for conformation, 9.5 for gaits and 9 for perspective.

Colts: Fürst Diamont H 

Six colts were selection for the champion's ring and Furst Diamont H bested the field with a total score of 9.4 points. 

This dark bay colt by For Romance x Quaterback, bred by Georg Hartl and owned by Lea-Elisabeth Pointinger, scored 9.5 for type, 9 for conformation, and 9.5 for gaits and perspective. 

The reserve champion was Fame (by Fair Deal x Don Primus), bred and owned by Julia Röhrig. He scored a total of 9.1 points with 9.5 for type, 9 for conformation, gaits and perspective. 

Ponies: Cosmos Cryptonit PP

Ten pony foals, colts and fillies together, competed for the title and in the end it was Erich and Bianca Pürstinger's Cosmos Cryptonit PP (by Cosmopolitan D x The Breas My Mobility) who ran away with the title. Scoring a total of 8.8 points, this foal got 9 for type, 8.5 for conformation, 9 for movement and 8.5 for perspective. 

ZG Hartl and Rainer bred the reserve champion, Jade (by FS Don't Worry x Scampolo). She scored 8.7 points with 9.5 for type, 8.5 for conformation, gaits and perspective.
