Total McLaren, a 7-year old licensed Oldenburg stallion, has sustained a sport career ending injury. He will continue   as a breeding stallion.

Total McLaren is by Totilas out of Deja vu (by De Niro out of Silberaster (by Sandro Hit x Canaster), bred by Ralf Knauf.

Licensed Stallion

Originally owned by Ad Valk, the black was licensed at the 2020 KWPN Stallion Licensing with the name "Maclaren" and subsequently sold to Denmark to Andreas Helgstrand and Anna Kasprzak.

A month later the stallion was accepted at the 2020 Danish Warmblood Stallion Licensing in Herning and did his 14-day suitability test, scoring 7,85 in total. He was renamed Total McLaren.

In May 2020 the Oldenburg society approved the stallion at a home licensing at Sudenhof in Hagen, where the stallion was in training under Eva Möller's supervision. he was later also approved for Westfalia and Hanover.

At the 2020 Danish Warmblood Autumn Stallion Performance test in Torring, he scored 8,07 points.

In 2021 he was proclaimed Oldenburg Main Premium winner.

Sport Career

Total McLaren was first competed in Germany by Jana Schrödter, who briefly rode for Helgstrand in Germany. She rode him to a second place at the 2021 Oldenburg Young Horse Championships iN Rastede and to a bronze medal at the 2021 Bundeschampionate.

In 2022 Leonie Richter took place in the saddle and rode him in one qualifier (Okel) before heading to the Bundeschampionate where they again got bronze. That show in September 2022 was his last competition.

Injury

Helgstrand announced on 18 June 2024 that Total McLaren will not return to sport due to an injury.

“We are, of course, very sad that Total McLaren will not have the opportunity to further develop his sporting career. Fortunately, he passes on his great qualities to his offspring, and we are therefore pleased that he can still be used in breeding,” said Helgstrand.

So far, Total McLaren has two licensed sons: the KWPN bred Magic McKee L and the Westfalian licensed Trocadero Noir.
