Sophia Obel Jorgensen has withdrawn from competing on the Danish team at the 2024 European Young Riders Championships in St. Margarethen (AUT) next week.

Obel's Highfive Fuglsang is deemed not ready to compete.

Obel is the 2022 European Junior Riders Kur Champion and in 2024 she began competing at Young Riders level. Her family acquired the now 9-year old Danish warmblood licensed stallion Highfive Fugelsang (by Grand Galaxy Win x De Niro) in November 2023 for her to make the transition with.

The pair successfully showed at CDI's in Herning, Aachen, Aalborg and Hagen, winning two classes in March in Aachen. Out of 11 CDI classes only twice did she score below 70%.

Trained by former Danish youth team trainer Dennis Fisker, they were selected on the team for St. Margarethen but have now withdrawn.

"We did not feel that Highfive was 100% ready to compete and for us his health is the most important thing, so we have decided not to compete at the European Championship this time," Sophia stated.

The Danish team's first reserve is Thilde Rude Hare on Fred The Red.
