Dutch young rider Lara van Nek has taken over the ride on Yessir Rahmouni's double Olympic ride All at Once.

All at Once is a 14-year old KWPN stallion by Ampere out of Wynona RB (by Gribaldi x Jazz). He is bred by Lara's mom Willeke Bos of Stal 104 in Wijdewormer, The Netherlands

Licensed Stallion

As a 2-year old the black was co-owned by the breeder in partnership with Eugene Reesink and Team Nijhof, but as the horse's sport career progressed Stal 104 became sole owner of the horse.

He was first licensed and ranked third in the premium ring at the 2012 Westfalian Stallion Licensing in Munster before getting approved for the KWPN society. In 2014 he got approved by the Hanoverian verband.

After the licensing in Munster he first stood up for stud in Warendorf. He did his 70-day stallion performance test in Neustadt/Dosse in the autumn of 2013 and scored 8.44 for dressage and 7.33 for show jumping to finish on a total of 7.90 points.

As a breeding stallion All at Once sired 9 licensed sons with Opoque being the most famous one. His most famous offspring in sport are Grand Prix horses Alive and Kicking (Charlotte Dujardin), All We Need (Simone Pearce),  Furst Fabelhaft (Lina Uzunhasan), and Allways Magic (Lisa Behr).

Sport Career

All at Once's first steps in sport were taken under Vai Bruntink. The stallion stood at stud at  Jacques Laarakkers's station, for whom Bruntink rode and whom she married in 2021.

Bruntink won one 2013-2014 KWPN stallion competition leg but did not ride the Final with him. In 2015 the pair tried to get selected for the Dutch team for the World Young Horse Championships but did not make the cut.

Yessin Rahmouni

Dutch born Moroccan Olympian Yessin Rahmouni took over the ride on All at Once and made the stallion's international debut.

In 2019 the pair first rode the medium tour at the CDI Le Mans in October 2019 before stepping up to the big tour at the CDI Exloo a week later. From there they went to the CDI Randbol and with those three results Rahmouni secured an individual Olympic ticket to Tokyo.

The Games were postponed due to the corona pandemic and in 2020 Rahmouni added miles on All at Once, who initially was quite stalliony in a competition atmosphere. Thy went to Le Mans, Lier and Hagen, before preparing for the Olympics in 2021 with starts in Le Mans, Opglabbeek, Exloo and Rotterdam. In Tokyo they were 44th in the Grand Prix with 66.599%.

Rahmouni continued to compete the stallion the next three years and added milestones to his list of achievement. At the 2022 World Cup Finals in Leipzig they were 13th with 73.679%. At the 2022 World Championships in Herning they were 78th in the Grand Prix with 65.326% and at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, where they were trained by long-time Anky van Grunsven, they landed 42nd place with 68.696%. The pair's last international was at the start of December in Kronenberg.

Lara van Nek

The owner's daughter, Lara van Nek, has now taken over the ride on the stallion as a schoolmaster.

"I can now gain experience on him, which I think is really cool," Van Nek told Eurodressage. "I have ridden Olly when Yessin was injured and I thought he was really nice to ride. Fortunately Yessin was happy when he took him over again and as icing on the cake he got to ride the Olympics after his injury."

The agreement with Rahmouni was that he could keep the ride until the 2024 Olympics. Now Lara gets her chance. "This is a great opportunity I'm taking with both hands," she said.

Van Nek is an experienced international youth rider. She competed ponies Dream Dancer, Haasendonck's Sultan, Brouwershaven Nairobi and Baumann's Despino in the FEI pony classes and Fariska and Amazing Comeback (aka Atilinda) in the Children and junior classes. She represented Holland at three European Children Championships (2017, 2018, 2019 winning double silver). She won team bronze at the 2020 European Pony Championships. In 2021 she moved into the junior division and competed at the 2022 and 2023 European Junior Championships on Fariska winning team silver in 2022.

This year she competed the home bred Obsession Taonga (by Vitalis x All at Once) at the World Young Horse Championships and has been riding at Young Riders level with Jappaloup (by All at Once x Lord Leatherdale).

Horses.nl reported that Van Nek and All at Once made their show debut at Prix St Georges level at a show in Wormerveer, winning the class with 67.868%.
