RS2 Dressage's Zum Glück Sold, in Training with Patrik Kittel

Saskia and Jacques Lemmens' of RS2 Dressage have sold their 2019 Bundeschampion Zum Glück. The horse has moved in training with German based Swede Patrik Kittel.

Zum Glück is a 13-year old Oldenburg stallion by Zonik out of Fera Capra (by Florestan x Bream xx). He is bred by Ullrich Kasselmann.

PSI Auction Price Highlight

The bay licensed stallion was first competed by Frederic Wandres in the A-level and riding horse tests between January and April 2017.

Zum Gluck became the price highlight of the 2017 PSI Auction in Ankum. The then 4-year old stallion sold for 850,000 euro to the Lemmens' couple of RS2 Dressage in The Netherlands.  

Robin van Lierop 

Robin van Lierop was the head rider at RS2 Dressage at the time and he took over the ride on the stallion. He qualified him for the 2018 Bundeschampionat by winning in Lienen with 8.30. In Warendorf the pair finished in bronze medal position in the 5-year old finals after placing fifth in the consolation finals I

In 2019 the pair had its best year together. They finished 9th in the 6-year old finals at the 2019 World Young Horse Championships in Ermelo and a month later won gold at the 2019 Bundeschampionate.  The duo tried to return to the World Championships in 2020 but was named second reserve. In the end the 2020 WCYH were cancelled due to covid.

In 2021 the duo returned to the arena in Germany to compete in the Nurnberger Burgpokal qualifier in Hagen but landed 13th place (69.317%) in the warm-up round and didn't contest the actual qualifier. In 2022 they competed at the Dutch Small Tour Championships but placed 22nd in the PSG (67.941). They did their first CDI in Exloo in June 2022 to score 66.372% in the PSG.

The Lemmens' couple ended its collaboration with Robin van Lierop and assistant Marieke van der Putten took over the lead role. 

She trained Zum Glück to Grand Prix level but the duo only rode in The Netherlands. In n2023 the pair competed in a couple of Intermediaire II tests. In September 2023 they did their first Grand Prix test to a 67.391% score. Two weeks later they got 70.417% at the CDN Houten.

In 2024 they were long-listed for Olympic team selection. Marieke rode Zum Gluck through the summer of 2025 She never showed him internationally.

Sold to Sweden

RS2 Dressage has sold Zum Glück and Peter Falk is now listed as owner. The ride has been allocated to Patrik Kittel.

The Swedish Olympian debuted the horse at the CDN Düsseldorf at Uhlenhof, where he won the Grand Prix with 77.630%.

Eurodressage reached out to Patrik Kittel and Marieke van der Putten but both declined to comment.

Peter Falk is also the owner of Hillstone (KWPN, by Zizi Top x Krack C), currently shown at Grand Prix level by Swedish Jeanna Hogberg; Mistral (KWPN, by Totilas x Andretti); Sherwood (by Skovens Rafael x Flemmingh), as well as Hill (KWPN, by Wonderboy x Gribaldi) and Milagro (by Morricone x Foundation), previously shown by Manuel and Lena Bammel; and Edguy F (SWB, by Donkey Boy x ) and Noble Coeur JS (KWPN, by Ferdeaux x Jazz), both previously shown by Annalena Lesch. Nobel Coeur JS is now also in training with Jeanna Hogberg.
