The KWPN licensed stallions Briljant, Apache and President's Wonderboy were the winners of the third leg of the 2010-2011 KWPN Stallion Competition, held in Zuidbroek on Thursday 30 December 2010.
Emmelie Scholtens has a successful day in Zuidbroek winning the L- and M-level class with her two rides.
Scholtens and the 4-year old bay stallion Briljant (by Uphill x Darlington) scored 83 points to take the victory at L-level. He got a 9 for walk and stood out with his canter. Belgian Tom Franckx finished second with Bon Bravour (by Painted Black x Chronos). He scored 8,5 for walk, canter and conformation. Two horses tied for third place: Bristol (by Jazz) and Breezer (by Johnson).
Scholtens claimed the trophy at M-level aboard the dark bay stallion Apache (by UB40 x Krack C), scoring 87,5 in total and earning a 10 for trot. The pair surprisingly beat World Champion Astrix (by Obelisk x Olivi) who got 9s for trot and general impression. Theo Hanzon and Amazing Star (by Flemmingh) were third with 84 points.
Laurens van Lieren, who won the 2010 KNHS Subli Championships just two days earlier, topped the leader board at Z-level with President's Wonderboy (by Ramon x Nimmerdor). With 83,5 points in total, van Lieren referred Theo Hanzon on Zhivago (by Krack x Jazz) to a second place (82,5 points). The dark bay stallion was a bit tense and spooky which pushed his score down to a 7 for general impression. Agaath van de Lei and Zjengis Khan (by Rousseau) ranked third.
