Nineteen Colts Selected for 2021 KWPN Stallion Licensing on Sixth Pre-Selection Day

On the sixth and final pre-selection day for the 2021 KWPN Stallion Licensing, the committee gave a green card to no less than 19 (!) colts to move on to the second phase.

While on the fifth day it was slim pickings, today (2 December 2020) it was a hayday with a very rich harvest. Sire Just Wimphof had a staggering amount of 9 colts accepted for the next round.

A total of 82 colts have now been selected for the 2021 KWPN Stallion Licensing, which will not take place in 's Hertogenbosch due to corona, but at a smaller scale in Ermelo, The Netherlands. On 17 December a last minute pre-selection day will be held for colts that have not yet showed up for the pre-selection.

The KWPN registered but German bred Just Wimphof (by De Niro x Riccione x Sandro Hit) presented his first crop and had 14 colts entered for the pre-selection. Nine of them were accepted. Indian Rock (by Apache) had four sons accepted.

"It was a very positive day," said chair Bert Rutten. "It started straight away on hard surface, on which we saw a promising collection of colts and our expectations were met during the freedom phase. The Just Wimphof offspring showed very good movement with a lot of cadence and they gave a fresh and sympathetic impression. The Indian Rocks were nice, uphill moving horses with a good movement mechanism."
