Seven Colts Selected for 2021 KWPN Stallion Licensing on Fifth Pre-Selection Day

Only seven colts were accepted on the fifth pre-selection day on 1 December 2020 for the 2021 KWPN Stallion Licensing.

The pre-selection days for the 2021 KWPN Stallion Licensing started on Thursday 26 November 2020 at the KWPN headquarters in Ermelo, The Netherlands, and will conclude today, 2 December.

Sixty-three colts have been selected so far for the Licensing in February 2021.

"It's hard to pin point a reason, but today was a difficult," said chair Bert Rutten about the fifth pre-selection day. "There were several groups from which we picked no stallions at all. In total we selected seven which fit in the collection for the second phase."

Toto Jr had three sons selected, Governor and In Style two.

"We already had to make many comments about the conformation on the hard surface and in general we missed uphill tendency in the movement," Rutten explained. "This does not mean that these colts can not develop into good sport horses, but today we are selecting for breeding and natural ability is relevant."
