Luxembourg dressage rider Fie Skarsoe has welcomed 40 Winx into her barn, the price highlight of the 2021 DSP Christmas Online Auction.
The German Sport Horse studbook (DSP) organized a small Christmas online auction of riding horses of which the bidding concluded on 21 November. The collection featured 11 dressage bred youngsters and 10 were auctioned.
Price highlight was the 3-year old mare 40 Winx (by Floriscount x Don Juan de Hus), bred by Australian Olympian Hayley Beresford and presented at the auction by Hayley's mom Jane Beresford. The liver chestnut, whose name is an Australian expression for taking a nap as dam Diva Georgina snoozed through her pregnancy, sold to Germans Heike and Thomas Rode Klein for 50,500 euro and will join Fie Skarsoe's stable in Luxembourg.
The second most expensive horse was Quadronoir (by Quadroneur x Benetton Dream). Presented by Matthias Müller, the 4-year old stallion sold for 38,500 euro to a dressage rider from Baden Wurttemberg.
All other eight horses sold for 25,000 euro or less. Rheingold (by Romanov x Florencio), presented by Katrin Beerhenke, sold for 25,000 euro to Sweden. The same price was paid for Gestut Greim's Fischer Fritz (by Vitalis x Furst Piccolo), but he'll stay in Germany.
Disco's Erbe (by Disco Tänzer x Ferragamo), bred by the Selg couple, moves to Switzerland for 20,000 euro
Diabolo (by Destano x Florencio), presented by Gestut Nymphenburg, sold for 11,000 euro to France. Gestut Greim's Dein Traum (by Danone x Florencio) found a new home in the U.S.A. for 10,500 euro.
The average price for a horse in this auction was 24,900 euro.
