The German and Canadian team for the FEI Nations Cup in Wellington, Florida, has been named.  The 2022 CDIO Wellington is the first Nations' cup leg of the 2022 season.

The 2022 FEI Nations Cup series includes five further legs, all in Europe: Mariakalnok, Compiegne, Rotterdam, Aachen, Falsterbo.

In order to have enough teams competing in Wellington, this competition is the only one in the series that allows mixed teams of small and big tour riders.

Germany will be represented by

  • Michael Klimke on Sanrino RHP, Harmony Sporthorses' 13-yo Oldenburg gelding by San Remo
  • Christoph Koschel on Dunensee, Terri Kane’s 13-yo Hanoverian gelding by Dancier
  • Frederic Wandres on Dolciario, Hof Kasselmann's 8-yo Oldenburg gelding by Danciano de Malleret
  • Lars Ligus on Soccer City, Katherine Kuss' 15-yo Hanoverian gelding by Sir Donnerhall

Koschel was first named on the German team with Eddieni, Masahiro Kosaka's 13-yo KWPN gelding by Johnson, but he decided to switch him with Dunensee for the three-test Nations cup.

Canada will be represented by

  • Pia Fortmuller and Frieda, the rider and Lars Busch' 11-yo Hanoverian mare by Furstenball
  • Megan Lane and Zodiac MW, Deer Ridge Equestrian's 18-yo KWPN gelding by Rousseau
  • Evi Strasser and Deja Vu Tyme, her own 15-yo Hanoverian gelding by Dauphin
  • Beatrice Boucher and Summerwood’s Limei, Monica von Glahn's 9-yo Hanoverian mare by Londonderry

Germany won the Wellington Nations' cup for the first time in 2021 and will be defending their title. This year only three teams will compete: USA, Germany and Canada.
