Discover Dressage and World Equestrian Center announce that the 2022 Florida Youth Dressage Championships (FYDC) will be held this spring at the World Equestrian Center (WEC) in Ocala, Fla, instead of the Global Dressage Festival in Wellington, Florida.
The event will take place on April 15-17, 2022, during Ocala CDI3*.
All divisions for the Florida Youth Dressage Championship 2022 will be held at the national levels in the FEI Test of Choice classes during the weekend.
The Florida Youth Dressage Championships provide a fun, competitive, and educational atmosphere for young dressage riders to advance in the sport, while boosting camaraderie and sportsmanship as well as new friendships and experiences.
From International to National Level
Over the years, FYDC has offered a growing platform for young riders, bringing them to the forefront in the sport. For 2022, FYDC organizers are excited to revitalize the competition with a new location at WEC – Ocala.
The championships will run under the same rules, with one major change in the format: this year the competition will be held at the national level to accommodate a new generation of youth riders. The same divisions will be offered: FEI Pony Division, FEI Junior Division, FEI Young Rider Division and FEI Under 25 Grand Prix.
Riders will compete in three tests through the Championships, including a team test that counts for 40%, an individual test for 40%, and a freestyle test for 20%. Along with championships in each division, an overall winner with the highest scores at the event will be crowned.
Special activities for the competitors are scheduled for that week and will be announced soon.
