German Grand Prix rider Bernadette Brune has acquired some serious young horse power: the 2022 Hanoverian Young Horse Champion San to Alati.

San to Alati is a 4-year old Hanoverian stallion by Secret out of Bella Florencia (by Belissimo M x Florencio x Michelangelo). He is bred by Lena-Marie and Kerstin Klose.

Premium Stallion

The gorgeous liver chestnut stallion became a premium stallion and reserve champion the 2020 DSP Stallion Licensing.

He sold at auction for 75,000 euro and was later recorded as co-owned by the breeder in partnership with Philipp Hess.

Krusterhof

San to Alati moved to Krusterhof in Voerde, Germany, where he went into training with Stefanie Wolf.

He scored the third highest mark at the 2021 Adelheidsdorf Autumn Stallion Suitability Test and was the high scorer at the 2022 Stallion sport test in Munster with 9.12 points.

He was competed in the young horses classes by Wolf, but when she fractured her leg, Mareike Mimberg took over the ride for the summer and she won the 2022 Hanoverian Young Horse Championships with him in the 4-year old stallion class on a score of 9.2.

Bernadette Brune

Brune recognized San to Alati's quality and has acquired him as a future hopeful for her dressage programme.

"It is my dream horse since the licensing," Bernadette confessed to Eurodressage. "In Verden at the Hanoverian Championships we said now or never."

Mimberg retained the ride for now and presented him at the 2022 Bundeschampionate in Warendorf today, where they placed second with 8.8 in the 4-year old stallion qualifier class.

"He will stay at Krüsterhof for breeding and will be ridden by Stephanie Wolf, who is sidelined now because of an injury," Bernadette added.

Brune has more horse power competing at the Bundeschampionate: the 3-year old Westfalian mare Eivissa (by Escamillo x Wolkentanz). Under Jessica Lynn Thomas she already won the 2022 Wesfalian young horse championships with 9.2.
