Horses.nl reported that Charlotte Jorst's small tour horse and former licensed breeding stallion Grand Galaxy Win is severely injured and his future in sport highly unsure.

Grand Galaxy Win is a 2011 born KWPN stallion by Apache out of Winner T (by Jazz x Zeoliet). He is bred by A. Toonen Arts and was originally named "Galaxy Win T."

Dutch and Danish Licensed

Owned by horse dealers Nico Witte and Andreas Helgstrand, the black was approved at the 2014 KWPN Stallion Licensing and a month later at the 2014 Danish warmblood Stallion Licensing, where he was named champion

The stallion remained in Denmark, stationed at Helgstrand Dressage, and only returned to Holland for the 2014 KWPN Autumn Stallion Performance Testing, in which he scored 84 points.

Sport Career

Under Spaniard Severo Jurado Lopez, the stallion finished 8th in the 2015 Pavo Cup Finals for 4-year olds and second in the 2015 Danish Young Horse Championships.

In 2016 the pair represented KWPN and The Netherlands at the World Young Horse Championships in Ermelo, where they were 7th in the 5-year old finals. He did not compete in the 2016 Pavo Cup, but was sixth at the 2016 Danish Young Horse Championships.

An almost two year break from competition followed. They returned to the arena in August 2018 to win the qualifier for the Danish Young Horse Championships. In October 2018 they placed fifth at these Championships. It was the horse's last show in Europe.

Sold to the U.S.A., Lightly Competed, Gelded

In the autumn of 2018 Grand Galaxy Win sold to long-time, loyal Helgstrand client, Danish born American Charlotte Jorst.

She made her international show debut on the stallion two years later, in November 2020 at the CDI Thermal. She also rode him in one CDI at the 2021 Global Dressage Festival in Wellington in March 2021. That was their last show.

In January 2022, Jorst announced that she had gelded him to make his life easier and more quiet instead of so hormone driven.

The news was much to the regret of breeders as Grand Galaxy offspring began to take Europe by storm: Oldenburg Licensing Champion Global Player became this year's Young Horse World Champion, and there are Licensed stallion and WCYH bronze medal winner Lennox U.S., WCYH finalist Highfive Fuglsang, Swedish performance test winner Glasgow, 2021 U.S. Young Horse Champion Glory Day and 2019 Devon Grand Champion Gjenganger, amongst others. So far he has 11 licensed sons.

Severely Injured

In an interview with the Dutch equestrian publication Horses.nl, Jorst confirmed that the gelding is severely injured and a return to sport unlikely.

"He's been injured for almost a year and I'm not sure if he'll recover," Jorst told Horses.nl. "It's such a shame. He has ready talent for the upper level work.

To Eurodressage, Charlotte added that the horse is with her in Reno, Nevada. "We are not sure if he’ll recover," she said. "He’s in the walker a bit every day."

Jorst plans on travelling to Wellington, Florida, for the winter and is brining her number one Grand Prix horse Nintendo, as well as Zhaplin Langholt with her as well as newest acquisition Federle and Atterupgaards Boticelli.
