The well known KWPN breeding stallion Jameson will not be standing at stud in 2023. He will be focused on sport instead.

Owner RS2 Dressage announced this decision on social media: "Because we want to focus on working towards Grand Prix level and take our time for that, Jameson RS2 is breeding season 2023 only available for frozen semen."

Jameson is by Zack out of keur mare Atilinda M (by Negro x Krack C). He is bred by Willeke Bos and was acquired in utero by Saskia and Jacques Lemmens at the 2013 Prinsjesdag Foal Auction.

Licensing Champion

The tall black stallion Jameson has been turning heads from the start.

He became the champion of the 2017 KWPN Stallion Licensing and did not stand at stud straight away in spring, which most stallion owners choose to do for commercial reasons. Instead the horse was given the time to grow and develop.

Under Marieke van der Putten, he won the 2018 Pavo Cup Finals and was eligible to do a shortened performance test, which he won in the autumn of 2018 with 90 points.

Marieke van der Putten

Jameson has been trained and competed by Marieke van der Putten.

The pair has been almost invincible in The Netherlands, winning the 2019 KWPN Stallion Competition Finals, and the 2020 KWPN Stallion Competition Finals. In 2018 he won the Pavo Cup Finals, in 2019 he was second behind Johnny Depp. In 2020 the Pavo Cup finals were cancelled due to corona.

At international level, Jameson could not (yet) live up to the winner's reputation he has in Holland. The powerhouse stallion often shows tension in walk, while impressing with his trot and canter.  At the 2019 World Young Horse Championships in Ermelo he was 8th as a 5-year old, at the 2021 World Championships in Verden he placed 6th as a 7-year old.

Van der Putten is now showing Jameson at national small tour level  and hopes to make the transition to Grand Prix in 2023.
