Irish dressage team rider Judy Reynolds has welcomed Johann Hinnemann's Rockman Royal into her barn in Dorsten, Germany.
Changes at Krusterhof
Many changes are taking place at Hinnemann's Krusterhof in Voerde, where head rider Stefanie Wolf has decided to go independent after 15 years of loyal service.
Wolf took several top stallions along with her, including For Gold, Extra Gold and Ellis, which are owned by Hinnemann's daughter Bettina / "Tina". She is now based at equestrian centre Stapelskotten in Münster.
This left the legendary dressage trainer Johann Hinnemann without a head rider in his stable. To find a quick solution for some of the horses in training there, Hinnemann looked at his long-time student Judy Reynolds.
Rockman Royal NG
Reynolds, who works out of stable Elwermann in Dorsten-Lembeck, accepted the 13-year old Westfalian gelding Rockman Royal NG into her barn.
Wolf rode the horse to a bronze medal at the 2014 Westfalian Young Horse Championships, a 12th place at the 2015 World Young Horse Championships and 13th place at the Bundeschampionate. In 2016 they were fifth at the Bundeschampionate. Wolf competed the bay up to Grand Prix level. Their last competition was in May 2022.
Rockman is now with Judy. "I have worked together with Johann since 2006 and he has asked me to ride the horse with a view to competing him in the future," Reynolds told Eurodressage. "I am very excited by this opportunity."

Amongst his most famous students are Coby and Marlies van Baalen, Heike Kemmer, Steffen Peters, Ulla Salzgeber, Kathleen Raine, Christine Traurig, Anna Merveldt, and Judy Reynolds. Before Stefanie Wolf, Leonie Bramall was head rider at his barn for years.
In the summer of 2012 his daughter Tina took over the management of the stallion station and the past two years Tina and Steffi Wolf ran the yard almost entirely by themselves as Johann has been spending more time in California, where his son Stefan is based, married to dressage rider Natalie Hamilton. At the start of 2023, Wolf announced her departure from Krusterhof.
