Four riders have been selected to represent Germany as a team at the 2023 FEI Nations Cup leg in Wellington, Florida, on 22 - 26 February 2023.

Germany were the winners of the CDIO Wellington in 2021 and 2022 and are seeking a three-peat.

The CDIO Wellington is traditionally the Nations' Cup kick off event for the annual series and is the only show where (remarkably to this date) mixed teams are allowed.

The 2023 FEI Nations' Cup series includes CDIO's in Wellington (22 - 26 February), Compiegne (4 - 7 May), Piliszjsfalu (7 - 11 June), Rotterdam (22 - 25 June), Aachen (27 June - 2 July), Knokke (5 - 9 July) and Falsterbo (12 - 16 July).

Riding for Germany in Wellington are four Grand Prix riders:

  • Frederic Wandres and Hot Hit
  • Anna Abbelen and Sam Donnerhall
  • Felicitas Hendricks and Drombusch,
  • Michael Klimke on Harmony’s Sanrino (reserve Horse Domino).

The reserve combination is the small tour pair Lars Ligus and Baron Bollwerk.

"After winning two times we are very motivated again for the hattrick," said Michael Klimke who will also serve as the team's chef d'equipe in Wellington.

Canada is the first nation to have announced its team for the CDIO. The U.S.A. has not yet posted their team.
