Four months after losing her European Championship kur gold medal winning ride Brilliant, Danish junior rider Sophia Obel Jorgensen has secured a new horse for the future. The parents of the 17-year old aspiring professional rider have bought Zouzo.
Zouzo is an 8-year old Hanoverian by Zack out of Sally (by Soliman de Hus x Fielman). He is bred by Günter Röhrich.
France
He was initially owned by Wilhelm Klausing and is approved as a stallion for Hanoverian breeding.
French Grand Prix riders Charlotte Chalvignac and her husband Jean François Vesin bought Zouzo for 165,000 euro as the price highlight of the 2019 Hanoverian Spring Elite Auction in Verden, Germany.
After moving to France the horse got the suffix Majishan behind his name to mark Chalvignac/Vesin's business. The pair made its international show debut in the 5-year old tests at the two back-to-back CDI's in Cascais, Portugal, where they scored between 82 and 89 points.
Denmark
In the autumn of 2020 the horse sold to Danish horse dealer Andreas Helgstrand, but he stayed in France and moved to Jessica Michel-Botton's stable at Haras de Hus. This pair won silver at the 2020 French Young Horse Championships.
Most recently Zouzo was in Germany with Patrik Kittel, but being ridden and competed at national level by Swedish Malin Nilsson-Wahlkamp. In 2022 Nilsson rode him in the Nurnberger Burgpokal qualifier in Hagen and in Verden.
Sophia Obel
At the end of October, Danish junior rider Sophia Obel tragically lost her multiple medal winning horse Brilliant to colic.
Obel, who is already riding for Helgstrand Dressage as a young professional, has now bought Zouzo. She has one more year left as a junior rider.
