U.S. Olympic team silver medal winner Sabine Schut-Kery is preparing herself for the next chapter in her professional career after retiring her career-making Grand Prix horse, Sanceo, from sport.
She recently welcomed the 6-year old Oldenburg stallion Splendid (by San Amour x Dream Boy) and has now added the 5-year old Galleria's Amon to her collection.
Bred by Ina Christin Otten, Amon is a 4-year old Oldenburg gelding by Ampere out of state premium mare Diadem (by Furst Heinrich x De Niro x Rubinstein). Grand dam Diana produced Jana Schrodter's 2019 European Junior Rider's Champion horse, Der Erbe OLD (by Dimaggio)
Initially based at Damil Dressage, the dark bay has been carefully started and only very lightly competed. He made his show debut under Franziska Erley in June 2022 and was shown at the Oldenburg Young Horse Championships in Rastede in July 2022 by Santi Damil. He was named reserve in the Oldenburg riding horse lot for the 2022 Bundeschampionate.
He is owned by Galleria Sportpferde for which Korean Olympian Dong Seon Kim rides.
Galleria Sportpferde has horses wil Damil Dressage, Diederik van Silfhout, and Helen Langehanenberg and decided to add Sabine Schut-Kery to their line-up of riders producing their horses up the levels.
Sabine came to Germany last summer to try out some of their horses and selected Amon as the one she preferred to produce.
"I tried Amon out last year right after the Young Horse World Breeding Championships in Ermelo," she told Eurodressage. "Amon gave me a good feeling under saddle but he still felt quite green at the time. I really like the balance and quality of his gaits. He is a very intelligent and kind horse. We are planing to take him this summer to a few shows to have him gain more confidence and getting him stronger."
