Evi van Rooij Gets Ride on Hanoverian Stallion Fontaine TN

Former Dutch junior team member Evi van Rooij has received the ride on Team Nijhof's Hanoverian stallion Fontaine.

Fontaine TN is an 8-year old stallion by Finest out of Sky (by Samarant x Ginsberg). He is bred by Norbert Fockenberg.

Breeding Career

He was first licensed at the 2017 Westfalian Stallion Licensing in Munster-Handorf.

The black stallion did his Stallion Suitability Test in Adelheidsdorf in 2018 and became the second best scoring stallion with a total of 8.08 with 8.76 for dressage and 7.25 for show jumping.

That same year he was the fifth most used stallion in The Netherlands with127 foals born in 2019.

At 2020 Stallion Sport Test in Munster he got a total of 8.12 points. A month later he also did the sport test in Verden and there he scored 8.44 points.

Sport Career

Fontaine's sport career has been almost non-existent. Although produced by professional Bart Veeze, the stallion has not yet done any significant showing.

In March and May 2022 he competed in his first two L-level classes at local shows in Germany under Veeze at age 7.

The stallion had often been in the Dutch news though because of a lawsuit between co-owners Gerke van den Bosch and Team Nijhof In May 2019 the court in Zutphen ruled in favour of Nijhof as the full owner.

Evi van Rooij

Team Nijhof has now given the ride on the stallion to 19-year old Evi van Rooij.

Van Rooij was member of the Dutch Junior Riders Team at the 2020 and 2021 European Junior Championships with Don Tango. In 2020 they were 23rd in the individual test, in 2021 they were fourth in the individual finals. They won team bronze and silver those years. Don Tango B sold to Poland. In 2022 she moved up to Young Riders with the KWPN mare Edea (by Johnson x Biotop) but she sustained an injury and has been retired from sport to become a broodmare.
