The 3-year old Kings Lady, the 4-year old Eyecatcher W, the 5-year old Genua Sampdoria, and the 6-year old Traunstein K became the winners of the 2022 Austrian Warmblood Young Horse Championship held in Stadl Paura on 15 - 18 September 2022.
The "AWO Bundeschampionate" includes sport classes as well as the annual mare and foal championship. The test riders for the riding horse classes were Ralph Kornprobst and Katharina Kalteis. They assisted judges Bruno Six and Harry Horst Lorenz.
3-YO: Kings Lady
Stephanie Dearing andthe mare Kings Lady (by Bon Courage x Feedback) topped the board with a total of 8.4 points. Bred and owned by Pfister of Dressurpferdezucht Zillertal, this mare got 8.5 for walk, 8 for trot, 8.5 for canter, 8 for conformation, 8.5 for general impression and the test riders rewarded her gaits, rideability and potential with 8.5
Ulrike Prunthaller and Wolfgang Kromoser's Cäcilia K (by Glamourdale x United) places second with a total of 8.3 points. This mare got 8 for walk, 8.5 for trot, canter, confirmation and general impression. The test riders rewarded her with 8 and 8.5.
Franziska Stürzlinger and Holzleitner's stallion El Camino FH (by Escamillo x Foundation) placed third with 8.1 points. He received 8 for walk and canter, 8.5 for trot and submission, 8 for general impression and the test riders gave him 7.5 and 8.5.
4-YO: Eyecatcher W
Lea-Elisabeth Pointinger's Eyecatcher W (by Escamillo x Belissimo M) renewed his champion's title of last year in the 4-year old division. The dark bay gelding, bred by Andreas Winter and owned by the rider scored a total of 9.0 with 8 for walk, 9 for trot, 9.5 for canter, 8.5 for conformation, 9 for general impression and the test riders gave him 10 and 9.5 points.
Katrin Grossholzner and Goggia (by Secret x Fürst Grandios) landed the reserve champion's title with 8.4 points. The mare, bred by Christian Grossholzner and owned by Simona Klais, received 9 for walk, 8 for trot, canter and conformation and 8.5 for general impression. With 9 and 8.5 from the test riders she got silver.
Pointinger also claimed bronze aboard gelding Esposito (by Escamillo x Sandro Hit), bred by Christian Grossholzner and owned by herself. This horse scored a total of 8.3 points with 8 for walk, conformation and general impression, 8.5 for trot and canter and 8.5 and 9.0 from the test riders.
A-level: Goggia
The Austrian Warmblood society also holds an A-level championship for 4 and 5-year olds competing at A-level, which was judged by Elisabeth Hudec-Semeleder; and Sabine Meusburger.
Katrin Grossholzner also competed the 4-year old Goggia (by Secret x Furst Grandios) in this division and here topped the board with 8,92 points, scoring 9.5 for walk, 8.8 for trot and canter, 8.5 for submission and 9 for general impression.
Marius Schreiner and Don Fior vom Prunnehof (by Don Juan de Hus) were second with 8.40 points. They got 8.5 for walk and canter, 8.2 for trot, 8.3 for submission and 8.5 for general impression.
Jacqueline Toniutti and Zucchero von der Aue (by Zoom) got bronze with 8.04 points. The gelding earned 7.9 for walk, 8 for trot, 8.2 for canter, 7.9 for submission and 8.2 for general impression.
L-Level: Beautiful Zambezi von der Aue
The 5 and 6-year olds compete in the same category and perform the FEI 5-year old finals test for the title.
Jacqueline Toniutti ad the 5-year old Beautiful Zambezi von der Aue (by Benicio) topped the board with 8.36 points and got the title. The gelding received 8 for walk, 8.4 for trot, 8.3 for canter, 8.4 for submission and 8.7 for general impression.
The silver medal went to Nicola Baur-rona aboard the 6-year old Broadmoars For Gold (by For Romance) with 8.22 points. This gelding got 7.7 for walk, 8.2 for trot and canter, and 8.5 for submission and general impression.
Stephanie Dearing and Augenweide von der Aue, a 6-year old mare by Hofrat, landed third place with 7.84 points. She got 7.6 for walk, 8 for trot and canter, 7.7 for submission and 7.9 for general impression.
