The Polish youth riders Veronica and Caroline Pawluk are looking forward to the 2024 show season with two new horses in the barn. Veronica has found her junior rider's horse in Danclair, while Caroline is ready for her last year as a junior with Furst Fernando OLD.
The Polish born and German based Pawluk sisters train with Jan Bemelmans in Krefeld, Germany.
Danclair
Danclair is an 8-year old Oldenburg by Danciano de Malleret out of Lady Liostro (by Lord Sinclair x Cagliostro xx). He is bred by Ulli Kasselmann.
Bred and reared at Gestut Osthoff and trained at Hof Kasselmann, Danclair made his show debut as a stallion in 2019 under Nicole Wego-Engelmeyer and then Annika Feldhaus took over the ride and showed him two weeks later in the summer of that year. On 11 December 2019 he was approved for Oldenburg breeding at the private licensing.
"Veronica tried out Danclair and it was a match straight away, they fit beautifully together," coach Bemelmans told Eurodressage.
After a super successful career on ponies, Veronica (16) has reached the age limit and will be making the transition onto horses and junior level with Danclair. Between 2021 and 2023 Veronica and her top pony D'Artagnan were triple Polish Pony Champions, they were 8th in the Kur to Music finals at the 2021 European Pony Championships, they won the Kur bronze medal at the 2022 Europeans and in 2023 they were 9th in the Kur.
After pony D'Artagnan, Danclair is the second horse nick-named "Danny" that can take Veronica into the FEI ring.
Furst Fernando
The black stallion is by Furstenball out of Viva Rosaria (by Rosario x Sandro Song) and bred by Indira Wallner.
The stallion was first competed as a 4-year old by Veronika Gerasimova in 2017 before Hubertus Schmidt's assistant rider Katharina Hemmer took over the ride in 2019. They placed 10th in the 6-year old consolation finals at the Bundeschampionate. Hemmer produced the stallion up the levels and campaigned him in the Nurnberger Burgpokal qualifiers in 2021. In 2022 and 2023 she further established him at small tour level and this year rode him in his first international shows at the CDI's in Sint-Truiden and Hagen. He was owned by Claudia Kohl.
"Furst Fernando arrived ten days ago and Caro is getting to know him better know," Bemelmans stated. "It's lovely that both girls can now work on getting ready for the 2024 show season."
