Jessica von Bredow-Werndl has received the ride on Sönke Rothenberger's 5-year old stallion Del Sogno.
Del Sogno is a Hanoverian bred offspring of Dante's Junior out of Lola Rennt (by Lauries Crusador xx x Worldly x Trapper). He is bred by Johannes Eibe.
Licensed Stallion
The dark bay stallion was licensed for breeding at the 2021 Westfalian Stallion Licensing in Munster-Handorf.
He did his shortened suitability test in Munster in April 2022 and scored 7,92 points. In January 2023 he did his first Stallion Sport test in Munster and scored 8,60 points with 8.7 for walk, 8.0 for trot, 8.5 for canter, 9 for rideability and 8.6 for general impression.
Philly Roberts
The stallion made his show debut with Anna-Giulia Savic in two riding horse tests in the Munster area in May and June of 2022.
The German based British young professional Philly Roberts then took over the ride in 2023 and competed him at three shows at A-level between March and June. In August they finished 8th in the 4-year old challenge that was held at the 2023 World Young Horse Championships in Ermelo.
Jessica von Bredow-Werndl
Olympic champion Jessica von Bredow-Werndl announced today on her social media that she will continue the training of the young stallion.
"The beautiful 5-year-old stallion of Dante’s Junior x Lauries Crusador moved in with us in Aubenhausen a few weeks ago," Jessica wrote. "I am very happy about our new addition and the cooperation with Sönke Rothenberger, who entrusts me with this little charmer for further training. Sometimes it can be beneficial to be a little smaller."
