Professional dressage rider Alexandra Sessler has taken over the ride on 6-year old No Limit, who won the silver medal at the 2023 World Championships for young dressage horses in Ermelo.
No Limit is a 2018 born Westfalian by Geniaal out of Florina (by Florestan x Donnerhall). He is bred in The Netherlands.
Dutch Start
No Limit is bred by accountant and car dealer Marcel Roerdink, who sold the colt as a foal to his client and adviser Eugene Reesink.
He was competed in The Netherlands by Charissa Buurmeijer and in the spring of 2023 offered for sale in the Excellent Dressage Sales but seemingly did not meet the reserve price as Reesink retained ownership.
Simone Pearce
In 2023 Dutch horse dealer Reesink suggested the horse to Simone Pearce, who had just moved to new sponsors, Monika and Thomas Ritzinger, in Bavaria. She received the ride and at the CDI Samorin she immediately qualified him for Australia to compete at the 2023 WCYH in Ermelo, which prompted the Ritzinger couple to purchase the gelding.
At the World Championships he placed fifth in the warm-up round with 88.00 points and rose to a silver medal earning second place in the Finals with 88.60.
Alexandra Sessler
After half a year riding for Ritzinger, Simone Pearce steered her life in another direction and left her employer to go independent. Alexandra Sessler has now taken that open spot.
The 48-year old Alexandra Sessler is a seasoned young horse trainer who has ridden up to GP level. She competed at the 2016 and 2018 World Young Horse Championships on Dieu d'Amour and Sir Max. Both horses sold as international junior riders' horses.
"I have been responsible for training young dressage horses with the Ritzinger family since February 1st," she told Eurodressage. "We work together as a team with Ludwig Zierer and Sebastian Heinze. I am very happy to be part of this team and to be able to train such high-quality horses."
No Limit
The ride on Ritzinger's most successful young horse, No Limit, has been allocated to Alexandra.
"The aim is to give No Limit and the other young horses the best possible training so that Sophia Ritzinger will later have healthy and successful horses for dressage," said Alexandra.
Sessler made her competition debut on No Limit at the regional show at Gut Eicherloch on 14 June 2024, where she finished 2nd in the 6-year old preliminary test with 8.26 points. However, she does not aim to bring No Limit back to Ermelo this year.
"A start in Ermelo is not planned for this year," she explained. "No Limit is a very strong character and incredibly talented horse. As the name suggests, he has "No Limit". It gives us all a lot of pleasure to see and accompany the development of this horse."
