The chestnut Vision L was named the champion of the 2024 Hanoverian Elite Mare Show held in Verden, Germany, at the beginning of August.

The inspection committee included Arend Garrn and Ulrich Hahne, while guest judges were Kai Ligges for show jumping and Eva Möller for dressage.

Forty-four dressage bred mares were presented and Vision L (by Vitalis x Fürstenball) was named the dressage champion. She is bred and owned by Günter Lindwehr and was handled by Nils zur Lage. She is also one of the first mares to receive the Exterieur+ premium.

"She is also very interesting as a riding horse, and we want to breed riding horses," she said. Her dam's full brother is Facilone FRH, who is currently successful at Grand Prix level with Helen Langehanenberg, and a half brother of the Finest son For Sure, who is successfully placing at the highest level in Portugal.

One of the most colourful horses was named reserve champion: Vida Colorida (by Valdiviani x Sandro Hit ), bred by Hans-Dieter Erfkemper and owned by ZG Vest and Rücker. She was a real eye-catcher not only because of her appearance, but also because of her trot mechanics.

The white and yellow sash for the best half-blood mare, who made it to the grand finale in Verden via the club shows, went to Hann.PA/Vet+ Vitschuna HM (by Vidar x Intschu Tschuna xx), bred and owned by Hartwig Mundt.

The Herwart von der Decken show was the perfect setting for the Friedrich Jahncke Prize. This is awarded to the highest rated mare family of the previous show season. This honour was bestowed on the family of Hann.Pr.St. Fortuna W (by For Romance x Londonderry), who won as an elite family in Neuversen with her daughters Vita W and Velgra (by Vaderland). The breeders are Christa and Ludger Welling.
