Ellen Hedbys Nominated for 2024 Comet of the Year Award

Swedish Under 25 team rider Ellen Hedbys has been nominated for the equestrian magazine Ridsport's "Comet of the Year" Award.

The award will be handed out at the Swedish Riders Gala to take place on 27 November 2024.

Since 2006 Ridsport annually selects three riders from the three Olympic disciplines for the Comet of the Year award to honour the most successful Swedish shooting star of the year. For 2024 the nominees are show jumper Ebba Danielsson, eventer Jenny Glebenius, and dressage rider Ellen Hedbys.

The 23-year old Hedbys represented Sweden at the 2024 European Under 25 Championships in St. Margarethen (AUT), where she finished 10th in the Kur to Music aboard the 12-year old Oldenburg Sonnenkonig (by Roi du Soleil x Sir Donnerhall). In 2022 she was member of the Young Riders team at the 2022 European Championships in Hartpury (GBR) with Quentin SV (by Quaterback x De Niro), where she won team bronze. She also received the 2022 Ajax Stipend.

Hedbys is based in Germany with Australian Olympian William Matthew, where they are developing their own training business.

The winner of the Comet of the Year award is decided by public vote and so far over 6,000 people cast their vote.
