Dutch junior team rider Yasmin Westerink has acquired a new junior horse at Helgstrand in Denmark: the 7-year old Floss Dance.
Floss Dance is an Oldenburg by For Dance out of Fenja (by Quaterback x Lordanos). He is bred by .Volker Steenken in Germany.
Licensed Stallion
Horses.nl reported that Floss Dance first came into the picture when he sold as a foal at the 2017 Oldenburg Foal Auction for 14,000 euro to Helgstrand.
Floss Dance was presented at the 2019 Oldenburg Stallion Licensing, where he was accepted and then went to the 2020 Danish Warmblood licensing where he got licensed.
Floss Dance obtained a one-year breeding permit after the 10-day observation test and only stood at stud for one season, at Katrinelund. As he dropped out of the 2020 Danish Warmblood Autumn Performance Testing, his breeding licence for Danish warmblood ended there.
Sport Career
Floss Dance made his show debut rather late in life at age 6 under Spaniard Borja Agullo LLorens in Denmark. He competed the horse in LA-level tests in January and February 2023.
As of the summer of 2023 Camilla Laerke Stubberup was on board for three shows after which a six month competition break followed. He returned for one class in Thisted at MA-level on 9 May 2024. His career high score was 73.889%, his low score was 62.917% at his last show.
Move to The Netherlands
Floss Dance has now been sold to Dutch junior Yasmin Westerink, who trains with Adelinde Cornelissen.
"Welcome Flossy. So excited for the future with this amazing horse," Yasmin took to Instagram. "Can’t wait to get to know him better. Thanks to my parents for giving me this opportunity and Helgstrand Dressage for everything."
Aboard Amphitryon Westerink won team bronze, individual test silver and kur bronze at the 2024 European Junior Riders Championships.
