Isabell Werth, the world number one, is entered with two young Grand Prix horses for the national Grand Prix tour at the 2025 CDI-W Neumunster.

She is slated to ride either Zeffirelli MT or Special Blend in Neumunster on 13 - 16 February 2025. She can only ride one.

Zeffirelli MT

Zeffirelli MT is the best known of the two as it has already two CDI's at small tour level to its tally.

He is an 11-year old Danish warmblood by Zack out of Overgaard's Derripa (by Londonderry x Solos Carex). He is bred by Tove and Ove Møller Nørgaard in Denmark and was originally named Overgaards Za Rak.

The bay sold as a foal to Blue Hors stud and they presented him at the 2017 DSP Stallion Licensing in Munich where he sold for 100,000 euro to Sissy Max-Theurer. She moved the horse to Gestut Vorwerk in Cappeln.  He did his 14-day test in September 2017 and scored 7,54 for dressage and 7,25 for jumping (total 7,55). In 2018 he got 7,94 for his sport test and in 2019 he got 8,01 for his second mandatory sport test.

He was first competed by Yvonne Kläne in 2019. He moved to Isabell Werth's yard and in March 2022 she debuted at small tour level in Ankum. She rode him in three more small shows. In 2023 the pair made its CDI debut at the CDI-W 's Hertogenbosch, placing third in the PSG and second in the Inter I. They also did the small tour at the 2023 CCHIO Aachen to a sixth and 10th place. Aachen was the stallions last show.

He is now scheduled to make his national Grand Prix debut in Neumunster

Special Blend

Special Blend is a 2015 born Oldenburg by Sezuan out of H.W's Hurrican (by Hotline x Sandro Hit x Donnerhall). He is bred by Hannelore Weber.

He was presented at the pre-selection for the 2017 Oldenburg Stallion Licensing, but didn't make the cut. At the 2019 Oldenburg Saddle Licensing, who was not licensed either and did not sell in the Elite auction on  6 April 2019 even though he was on the list. He apparently was not fit after slipping in his stall in Vechta. Two weeks after the licensing, on 24 April 2019, the Oldenburg Verband approved him privately. He was listed as owned by K. Ahrenshop and M. Schmidt from Sulingen (GER)  In June 2019 he was competed by Lydia Jordan in the 4-year old classes at a regional show in Milte.

By the end of 2019 Helgstrand Dressage owned the horse and they got him licensed at the 2020 Danish Warmblood stallion licensing.  The stallion did his 14-day stallion suitability test in Denmark in March 2020 and scored 8,63 points for dressage and 6,83 for show jumping to finish on a total of 8,05 points.  In the spring of 2020 Jeanna Hogberg was entered for the German WCYH team selection trial with Special Blend but did not make it to round two. In the summer of 2020 Hogberg showed him in three shows in Denmark.

On one of Werth's regular shopping trips in Denmark, she secured Special Blend. Her first competition with him was the local show in Hamminkeln in May 2024, where won the Grand Prix with 74.633%. Neumunster would be the horse's second competition under Werth.

In the German FN database the horse is still listed as owned by Ahrenshop and M. Schmidt.

Which Horses are in the Wings

Isabell Werth has amassed an impressive line-up of horses of which many are knocking at the door of Grand Prix or nearing medium tour level.

Alongside Zeffirelli and Special Blend she has Skovens TzarinaJoshuaMajestic TaongoSo Unique, Clarksville, and Valdiviani.

Joshua did his first Grand Prix test in February 2024 and his return to the arena is highly awaited, just like the come back of Skovens Tzarina who has not been shown since winning the 2023 Nurnberger Burgpokal Finals. So Unique's last show was at small tour level in November 2023.

Lisa Wernitznig showed Majestic Taonga at the 2024 World Young Horse Championships in the 7-year old division. Breeding stallion Valdiviani last showed at Grand Prix level with assistant rider Niklaas Feilzer in October 2024.

Werth also has the Holsteiner licensed stallion Clarksville in her barn. He has recently been gelded. The 11-year old (by Cascadello x Canto) finished 10th in the 2018 Bundeschampionate under Mareike Peckholz. He came to Werth in 2020 and disappeared from the show scene for three years to resurface under Feilzer in 2023. He did three local shows at S-level that year. The gelding hasn't been shown since.
