The Westfalian bred stallion Revolution was proclaimed Danish Warmblood Stallion of the Year 2025.

The American owned stallion was honoured at the 2025 Danish Warmblood stallion licensing in Herning, where he was presented by his rider Roberto Brasil (POR).

Honoured

The ceremony was attended by breeders Yasemin and Sarah Yanik, Revolution's former owners Anna Kasprzak, Søren Grønborg, and Andreas Helgstrand, as well as Jan Pedersen, the chairman of the Danish Warmblood Association.

"We are going to celebrate and honor a stallion who has made a particularly positive impression through his influence in breeding as well as through his own sporting results. We are privileged in Danish Warmblood to have stallion keepers who ensure that we have breeding stallions of extremely high quality available to our breeders and we have the pleasure of presenting one of these to you now," said Vicky Nortvig from the Dressage Breeding Management department in presenting the Stallion of the Year.

"Stallion of the Year 2025 Revolution (by Rocky Lee x Rouletto) has attracted attention from the moment he stepped onto the scene. The large and impressive young stallion was selected and named premium stallion at the 2015 Hanoverian Licensing in Verden and created a stir and international publicity when he set a German price record at the subsequent auction and changed his address to Denmark."

Career Overview

Revolution sold for 1.2 million euro at auction at the licensing, although many questioned the reality of the transaction, believing it was a pre-arranged deal and the auction bidding a publicity stunt… which worked. Albeit the stallion went on to achieve greatness.

He was  approved for Danish Warmblood in 2016 as a premium stallion and in the autumn he became a very convincing winner of the 35-day performance test with no less than seven 10s and a result of an excellent 977.5 points. Subsequently, Helgstrand and Revolution won the Danish Young Horse Championships in 2017, 2018, and 2019. At the 2018 World Young Horse Championships he won gold as a five-year old with 96.20 points and silver in 2019 as a six-year old with 94.400 points.

In the summer of 2020 Andreas first competed Revolution at Prix St Georges level in two national shows. A three-year break from competition followed. In February 2023, he made his come back at the home show in Vodskov, winning with 75.90% in the Grand Prix.

Revolution sold to MFI Group from Colorado, USA, in October 2000 as a Paris Olympic hopeful for Roberto Brasil.  The pair competed in one CDI in February 2024 after which it took a break from showing to focus on its long-term future. The horse is currently in training with Patrik Kittel in Germany.

Breeding Success

In 2021 Danish warmblood proclaimed him an Elite sire based on the quality of his offspring. At the start of 2023 Revolution was the number one ranked dressage stallion on Danish warmblood dressage index. He has already sired 17 licensed sons, including Raven, Rockabye S, and Rosebank VH.
