Soulmate Askehaven, the runner-up of the 2025 Danish Warmblood Young Horse Championships for 5-Year Olds, has moved to Germany.
Soulmate Askehaven is a 2020 born Danish warmblood by Secret out of Nørregårds Fantacy (by Don Olymbrio x Furst Heinrich). He is bred by Lisa Munch Holst.
Debut in Denmark
The black gelding went into training with Anne Troensegaard In June 2024. In September 2024 Anne had entered him for a 4-year old qualifier for the 2024 Danish Young Horse Championships, but there was no score as the horse got a little overwhelmed in the arena.
In October 2024 Soulmate sold to Helgstrand Dressage and the ride was allocated to Finnish Merita Hagren. She piloted the horse to a second place at the 2025 Danish Warmblood Young Horse Championships for 5-Year Olds in Herning at the start of March.
In Herning, Soulmate was sixth in round 1 (7.5 for walk, 8 for trot, 8.5 for canter), fifth in round 2 with 8 for walk, 8.5 for trot, 8 for canter, 8 for submission and 9 for general impression, and test rider Daniel Bachmann scored Soulmate 9 for rideability and 10 for potential.
Move to Germany
Soulmate Askehaven has moved to Hamburg, Germany, where he joined Oatley's stable.
Rose and Kristy Oatley have more Helgstrand horses in the barn. In 2024 they swapped Hesselhoj's Down Town for the licensed stallions Opoque and Parero.
