Valentine ISF Named Foal Champion at 2025 Devon Breed Show

The crossbred KWPN x Friesian foal Valentine ISF was named Foal Champion at the 2025 Devon Breed show on 24 September 2025.

Foal Championship: Valentine ISF

The two top ranked foals of the Filly and Colt/Gelding class were invited to the champion's ring to determine the Overall Foal Champion of the 2025 Devon Breed Show.

The Filly champion Valentine ISF was picked as the overall winner by inspectors Gwen Ka'Awaloa and Susan Mandas. Valentine ISF is a Dutch warmblood filly by Kaiman out of Zabrina ISF (by Tjalbert 460 x Brend 413). This KWPN x Friesian cross bred foal is bred and owned by Iron Spring Farm.

This the second, consecutive year that Catherine Malone's Iron Spring Farm has captured the coveted Foal Champion's title. In 2024 Ulrich ISF (by Cum Laude out of Friesian Awesome ISF (by Ulbert 390 x Winand 405) won

The reserve champion's title went to the colt reserve champion Monogatari Express, an Oldenburg by Monterey x De Laurentis, bred and owned by Domenique Carson. The champion in the colt class, Nancy Holowesko's Sazerac CF (by Salvino x Quaterback) was the undisputed leader in his class with 84.175%, but he scratched for the overall championship.

The reserve filly champion Madonna QC, a Hanoverian by Monterey x Franziskus, ranked third in the overall championship. She is bred by Quintenn Alston and owned by Emily Hassman.

Pony Foal Championship: Knightwynds Seduction

Four pony foals competed at the Devon Breed show this year and three were invited to the Overall Pony Foal Championship ring.

The Filly Champion: Rachel Laufer-Wengard's five-month old Welsh cob filly Knightwynds Seduction (by Fferm Gwenffrwd Swagger out of Knightwynds Santaria (by Knightwynds Topaz) went head to head with the Colt Champion, Trestle Tree farm's Harleylujah, an Oldenburg registered colt by Woodbury's Harlequin x Colwyn Llewelyn. It as filly Knightwynds Seduction who took highest honour for the overall title.

The reserve filly champion also became the overall reserve foal champion, ahead of Harleylujah. This was Lindsey Berry's Morgan bred Starberry Cosmic Enya (by Clear Creek Zeus x Ancan True Colors).
