The KWPN licensed stallion Charmingmood has passed away suddenly on 5 October 2025. He was 18 years old.
Charmingmood was a 2007 born KWPN stallion by Winningmood out of Nedorette W (by Contango x Belfalas xx). He was bred by Sjak Laarakkers, Christa Larmoyeur and GW van Norel.
Licensed
The stallion was licensed at the 2010 KWPN Stallion Licensing and sold to Adri Zekveld at the 2010 KWPN Select Sale for 80,000 euro.
The stallion did his performance test in the spring of 2010. He scored 8.5 for walk, and 7.5 for trot, canter, suppleness, self carriage, rideability and potential. He totalled 76 points.
He sired 35 foals registered with KWPN of which two daughters became elite mare.
Sport Career
He was first trained and competed by Vai Bruntink, who presented him in the 2011 KWPN Stallion competition.
In the spring of 2014, Charmingmood moved to Kirsten Brouwer's barn. The new pair finished fourth at the 2015 Dutch Indoor Championships at ZZ-Z level.
The bay stallion moved again in 2016. Under Mark van de Donk he was competed in the 2017 VHO Trophy and at small tour level in 2018. The highest level class they showed in was an Intermediaire II.
The horse got his fifth rider in Jenneke Overduin. This pair competed at small tour level through 2020.
Anna Kordatzaki
Dutch based Greek Jiochanna "Anna" Androniki-Kordatzaki purchased Charmingmood in February 2021 as a successor for her retired Grand Prix horse Roosens Westpoint (by Lancet x Forrest xx).
He briefly served as a schoolmaster for junior rider Zoë Roosen (GRE), who premiered him internationally at the 2023 CDI Kronenberg Indoor as her first and only CDI with him.
"The injury kept coming back so we retired him 1.5 years ago," Anna explained. "He passed from heart failure in his paddock. We are totally devastated."
