The first of three under saddle presentation will kick off on 14 October 2025 as preparation for the 2025 KWPN autumn stallion performance testing, which begins on 17 November 2025.

The KWPN licensing committee hosts three under saddle presentations (14 October, 5 November, 17 November) before the actual performance test, which lasts 21 days.

Saddle Presentations

During the under saddle presentation, the stallions will appear in the arena by two or three at a time. The stallions are presented by their own rider at walk, trot, and canter, as directed by the stallion selection committee. The committee assesses whether the stallions are suitable for the upcoming performance test.

Colts that were already accepted at the licensing in Den Bosch will be presented as well as colts who didn't go to Den Bosch but want a chance at approval with their under saddle presentation.

Inspector Floor Dröge explains to KWPN-NA"s Liz van Woerden: "the committee first will assess the rideability: are the stallions easy to ride? This will make it easy for our riders to test them during the performance test. Besides that, the committee will assess the overall quality of the stallions, meaning the quality of their basic gaits but also the strength of the hind leg, the posture and balance. The committee can already give an expectation towards the owner on how the stallion will do in the performance test if they would start now. Sometimes it might be smarter to give the stallion some more time to develop further under saddle before starting the test.”

After each presentation the committee will discuss with the stallion owners whether they deem their colt ready or not.

Seventeen of the 33 (!!) accepted 3-year old colts of the 2025 KWPN Stallion Licensing are entered.
