Eichenkönig has been named champion of the 2025 Trakehner Stallion Licensing in Neumunster, Germany, on 20 November 2025.

A collection of thirty-seven stallions was originally selected. In the end, 13 of them were licensed and no less than 6 were named premium.

Eichenkönig

The best of show was the Belgian bred Eichenkönig, who is by Kentucky out of state premium mare Eliza (by Hofrat x Schwadroneur). His grand dam is elite mare Evita XII, who also produced elite sire Easy Game.

The champion is bred by Daniel de Charleroy in Herselt, Belgium, and was scouted by Philipp Klingbeil as a youngster. He trained and presented the colt at the licensing, representing the owners, a syndicate of seven including the breeder, Klingbeil, Simone Bogner, Lilli-Sophie von Schöning, Lea Andrelang, Katharina Halfter and Marinus Feichtner.

The stallion sold at auction for the highest price: 405,000 euro. He will move to Gestut Sprehe and will join last year's licensing champion Havertz as a stable mate.

Premium Ring

Hannu Haakon
The reserve champion was Goldkurs, who is by Impact out of elite mare Gardemaß (by Shavalou x Kostolany). He is bred and owned by Bernhard Langels at Schäplitz Stud in Bismark. Goldkurs sold at auction to Rhineland for €61,000.

The third ranked stallion in the premium ring was Hannu Haakon. He is by Scaglietti out of Helia (by Millennium x Induc) and is bred at Gestüt Gut Staffelde.
