After almost two years in Dutch ownership a 50% ownership share in the licensed breeding stallion Blue Hors Zackerey has been sold to an Italian dressage rider.

Zackerey is a 12-year old Danish warmblood stallion by Blue Hors Zack out of Overgaard's Hit Me (by Sandro Hit x Solos Carex). He is bred by Tove and Ove Møller Nørgaard.

Denmark and Germany

He was a premium stallion at the Danish Warmblood Licensing and also approved for Oldenburg and Swedish warmblood. In 2018 he won the Main Premium title at the Oldenburg Licensing for his excellent first crop of foals and performance test results.

He was initially trained by Daniel Bachmann Andersen and became the reserve champion as a 4-year old at the 2019 Danish Young Horse Championships. When Bachmann left Blue Hors stud in 2020, the ride surprisingly went to the off-base rider; Spaniard Severo Jurado Lopez.

In 2021 Zackerey moved to Germany to stand at Martin Determann's station. The ride on the stallion was given to Lukas Fischer, who competed the horse once in December 2021 at M-level. For the 2022 breeding season, Zackerey moved to the Dressage Performance center (DLZ) in Lodbergen and was not competed at all. At the start of 2023 he returned home to Denmark and the ride was allocated to Nanna Skodborg Merrald.  He was not competed and, therefore his last competition start dates back to December 2021.

The Netherlands

With the closing of Blue Hors stud on 1 April 2024, the Danish stallion station retained a small group of 7 breeding stallions and sold all the rest.  Zackerey was acquired by Dutch stallion owners Joop van Uyterts and the Brouwer brothers in February 2024.

He stood up for stud in The Netherlands for two seasons, but never returned to the show ring, or at least no significant results were reported.

At the most recent 2026 DSP Stallion Licensing in Munich, Zackerey had three sons licensed. According to the FN database he has 13 licensed sons in total. In the horsetelex database there are 19 listed.

Co-Ownership

Van Uytert and Brouwer no sold a 50% co-ownership share in Zackerey to Italian dressage rider Andrea Giovannini.

He previously bought King Karim from them, which he resold to an Italian junior rider.  Zackerey will move to Italy.

Giovannini made his international show debut in 2018 aboard the then 7-year old The Best (by Theodore x Don Gregory), which he competed at the World Young Horse Championships in Ermelo. In 2021 he rode his first international Grand Prix on the same horse at the CDI Montefalco in Italy. Since then he has only shown at CDI's in Ornago, Italy; most recently at small tour level on Nhirzar (by Incognito x Tango)
